Which church will we be?

Here is a little tidbit for all of you to be thinking about. Is church for believers of for non-believers? What I mean is this...who are we trying to reach?

Are we trying to create a church where other believers who are in our community can come and worship and find a place for their family and join a great fellowship with great programming? A place where other believes can get involved, find a place of service, pay their tithe, etc, etc. This is a church which tries to reach believers.

Or...are we trying to "seek and to save that which is lost"? Are we trying to find people who dont know God or who are not actively involved in a church and reach them? Are we trying to attract people who dont have anything to do with God who are not spiritual people and who are not living for Christ? This is a church for non-believers.

The answer to this question is important. But...be careful how you answer! There is a major difference in how a church will operate depending upon the answer. All churches believe in reaching the un-churched. But not all churches are active at reaching the un-churched. Many churchs that believe in evangelism are not willing to change their church programing, structure, strategy, budget, etc in order to be a place which attracts the un-churched.

There is a major difference in a church that believes in reaching the un-churched and a church that actually does it.

Which church will Wakefield Baptist Church be? Will we be a place which attracts believers only? Or will we be a church which attracts and reaches un-churched people? What price are we willing to pay in order to be a church for the un-churched?
