I am proud to accept the new position as Pastor of Wakefield Baptist Church as the church voted yesterday to extend the call. Kelly and I will be in a state of transition for the next three to four weeks as we make our way to North Carolina. In fact, there is a possibility we will be homeless for about two weeks! Our current home will be sold on June 29th. We will not close on our new house until possibly as late as July 3rd. Can someone loan us a tent? Kidding...The Humbers have graciously offered to allow my family to stay at their house for the first two weeks in July. They will be gone most of this time so it will work out great for us to watch the house for them. Kelly will not even be with me the first week so I will just be hanging out with Jack and Shorty who are normally confined to the back porch. But if none of you will tell William I may let them sleep with me in the master bedroom! (just kidding William). Those poor dogs! I will at least make sure they are well fed.
Kelly and I are so excited about our new home in Youngsville. It is only 10 minutes from the church and from everything else in Wake Forest...but it is out in the country a good ways...and we love it. We look forward to having people from church over for dinner away from the city lights. When Kelly walked into this house the first time she loved it so much she didnt even want to look at anything else. What can I say...I love that lady...I would give her the world if I could.
