My First Sunday

Yesterday was my first Sunday with all of you at Wakefield and already Kelly and I feel right at home. I have been so impressed with how nice everyone has been to me and my family. I look forward to many years of service here at Wakefield Baptist as your pastor.

If you have not been by the new building yet I challenge you to do so. It is starting to look like a church! I make a practice of driving to the new building a couple of times a week. I do this not just to monitor the progress of construction, but so that I can spend some time praying for the ministry which will take place at our new site. I am already dedicating this new facility to the Lord and am praying that it would be an effective tool for spreading the Gospel to lost people all over the world.

Please pray for me as I get started here at the office. There is so much work to be done!

Also, please be in prayer about a youth minister. This is a critical need for our staff. This person will need an ability to relate and minister to teenagers but will also need to have the ability to minister to their families as well. Please be in prayer about this.

Have a great week.
